Spring (& anytime) Crafts!!

Bead Critters

You Will Need:

  • Wooden beads in a variety of colours and sizes
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Felt – various colours
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Use your imagination to create many colourful critters. Here are a few to get you started!

Caterpillar:
Put some glue on the end of a pipe cleaner and insert it into one small bead.  Turn a slightly larger or same size bead sideways so its hole looks like eyes and glue it onto the smaller bead that has the pipe cleaner.  Now thread 4 more beads onto the pipe cleaner, adding glue to the last one to hold it in place.  Trim off any extra pipe cleaner.  Cut antenna and little legs out of felt and glue on to the head and body beads.  All done!

Ducky:
Choose 2 beads, one slightly larger than the other. With its holes positioned to look like eyes, glue the small bead over one of the holes in the larger one. Cut a bill, feet and wings from felt and glue them in place. For stability, make sure the feet fit squarely beneath the ducky's body.

Bunny:
Choose 2 beads, one slightly larger than the other. With its holes positioned to look like eyes, glue the small bead over one of the holes in the larger one. Cut the ears, tail, and feet from felt and glue them in place. For stability, make sure the feet fit squarely beneath the bunny's body.
